at the Great Friends Dance Festival presented by Island Moving Company.
Set in the intimate Great Friends Meeting House, built in 1699, the Great Friends Dance Festival brings concert dance to Newport, RI for two remarkable weeks of performances. I am endlessly excited to participate in this years installment of Great Friends, but as there is no payment for this festival, I need your help to get us there and to compensate my wonderful dancers!!
Any donation received will be used to compensate the performers, cover travel and per diem expenses, and rehearsal space costs! All donators will be recognized on this website!!

Lauren Garson graduated from Point Park University with a BFA in Dance. Upon graduating, she moved to Houston, TX where she danced with METdance, working with choreographers including Robert Battle, Peter Chu and Kevin Wynn. In New York, Lauren danced with Parsons Dance, touring both nationally and internationally to South Korea, China and Italy. She also did project based work with Sue Bernhard Danceworks and Joe Celej. Now based in Cleveland, OH, she is beginning her first season with GroundWorks DanceTheater. Lauren is also a fully certified STOTT pilates instructor.
Allie Kronick graduated magna cum laude from Point Park University with a dual BA in Jazz and Modern Dance Performance. She was a four year company member of Houston MET Dance, performing works by Peter Chu, Kate Skarpetowska, Sidra Bell, and Larry Keigwin, to name a few. She has also been seen at the DUMBO Dance Festival, Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out series, and with Synthesis Dance Project. Allie currently dances with Joe Celej, The Next Stage Project, and Ariel Rivka Dance.
Robbie Moore, a Houston-native dance artist, graduated from the Juilliard School in May of 2014. He has performed works by Joseé Limón, Martha Graham, Pina Bausch, Ohad Naharin and William Forsythe. In 2010, Robbie worked alongside Peter Chu, founder of chuthis., in his creative process for “This Thought”. That same year he was recognized as one of the twenty Presidential Scholars in the Arts. Robbie recently had premieres with TOES for dance, a Toronto-based initiative, the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company in New York City, and Opera Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. He can be seen in a new work by MADboots dance at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival at the end of August 2015. In addition, Robbie currently works with world-renowned dynamic anatomist, Irene Dowd, with the objective to learn, model, archive, and teach her body of work.
